Agricultural Engineering Bachelor's study programme Automotive transport specialization 3rd year students Ralfs Zaķis, Jēkabs Avotiņš, Uģis Ieviņš, Agricultural Engineering Doctoral study programme 3rd year doctoral student Kārlis Amatnieks together with the Acting Dean Ruslans Šmigins participated in the activities of the combined intensive programme (abbreviated BIP) “Automotive Academy” in Poland from April 7 to 11. Before that, students and lecturers participated in online lectures from March 4 to 27.

The aim of the BIP was to bring together best educational practices and train qualified engineers who can succeed in a wide range of automotive sectors. The students participating in the programme had the opportunity to consolidate and expand their knowledge and skills in automotive engineering. This was possible through interaction with an international group of students, lecturers and industry experts in the automotive industry in online lecture sessions, as well as through practical laboratory sessions and other activities organized by the Casimir Pulaski Radom University.

As part of the BIP, students got acquainted with the MAN electric bus production process at the Starachowice factory and tried their hand at safe driving at the Jastrzab autodrome. The laboratory works concluded with the preparation of a report and passing a final test. The course completion was confirmed with an appropriate certificate and 3 ECTS credits.

The Erasmus+ BIP programme was implemented in cooperation with the Casimir Pulaski Radom University (Poland) as the coordinating institution, as well as partner universities - Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvia), International Hellenic University (Greece) and Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences (Lithuania).

The coordinator of the programme from LBTU is the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies Ruslans Šmigins.
